Abstract

Over the past fifteen years, significant attention has been directed toward understanding the role of team reflexivity, encompassing both social and task reflexivity, in enhancing team effectiveness. This article provides a comprehensive review of theoretical and empirical studies on team reflexivity, aiming to consolidate current knowledge and lay the groundwork for future research, particularly in the context of strategic decision-making teams. We explore research highlighting the moderating effects of social reflexivity on the relationship between task-related arguments and affective conflict. Additionally, we examine recent studies that seek to improve the relationship between task-related arguments and strategic decision outcomes through the moderating influence of task reflexivity. Our review concludes with a discussion of several critical issues that future research should prioritize to deepen our understanding of team reflexivity's role in strategic decision-making teams
