Abstract

This paper synthesizes theoretical concepts and empirical studies to explore the essential characteristics of contemporary organizations capable of thriving in discontinuous environments. Utilizing the model of reconfigurable organizations proposed by Galbraith et al. (2002), the study identifies key enablers of adaptability and resilience, such as active leadership, knowledge management, continuous learning, flexibility, integration, employee commitment, and change readiness. By demonstrating how these elements contribute to the design of a reconfigurable organizational structure, the paper underscores the importance of strategic resource redeployment in the ongoing redesign of processes and structures. These insights highlight the critical role of these characteristics in enabling organizations to dynamically adjust to ever-changing conditions, ensuring long-term sustainability and success
